At a time when real hip hop seems not to exist anymore here comes Ricky Bats with his debut album “Visions Of A Prospect”. The album has a Hip Hop, R&B vibe with guest appearances from Tony Sunshine and Dyce Payne.
The Bats Wave artist goes deep into his personal experiences and emotions with tracks like “I Got You Baby” and “Like Son Like Father”, even battling with himself in “Inner Childhood”.
The first single is a lively, melodious song called “Did I Dream You” and was produced by Da Inphamus Amadeuz. The second single titled “Ain’t A Thing” is a fun, upbeat track featuring multilingual Rafi Oso on the hook. Videos for both songs can be found on YouTube and RickyBats.com
The album cover was a photo that Bats’ mother took. She was walking down Prospect Ave in the South Bronx with Ricky’s youngest son in a laundry cart when he noticed a poster of his father on the street pole. Years later, the photo became Bats’ debut album cover.
